Let us see....

So.... this is my (Faith) first blog post of many more to come (as a requirement), but I am not quite sure what to blog about.... It has to have something to do with fashion, fashion as art, manners (my opinion piece), or stuff like that.... I think I will write about necessary manners..... (I am probably also going to use some/most/all of these for my alternative story form for my article)....... Actually I am going to write about manners in 1921! (cool right?)

Girls
  • Are known as ladies, if they are physically fit, gentle, and winsome.
  • Do not loiter on a street to talk to one another or boys.
  •  If a seat is offered, accept it with a polite "Thank you."
  • Do not use cosmetics during school.

Boys
  • Are known as gentlemen, if they are "fine" and athletic.
  • Do not detain girls on streets or corners, if you must talk, ask permission to walk a little.
  • Must lift your hat when you pass a girl/woman you know, when you pass a man, and when you pass a man walking with a girl/woman.
  • Do not spit on the street, use your handkerchief.
  • In a street-car, touch your hat politely and offer your seat to a girl/woman or elderly man.
  • Hold the door open for any girls/women or elderly people, and make sure it doesn't close in someones face.
  • When dinning, draw back the chair for a girl/woman, then push it under her as she sits down. Then take your seat.

Both
  • Do not rush ahead of others to "secure a seat in a street-car" or any other advantage.
  • If you do advance out of turn, say "I beg your pardon" or "Excuse me please."
  • Do not speak loudly in public.
  • Do not chew gum in public.
  • Avoid running in corridors.
  • Avoid crowding.
  • Keep hands out of pockets.
  • Care for fingernails, face, and hair at home.
  • When at school, and you want to be called on, rise quietly, face your teacher, and wait to be called on.
  • Wash your hands before you eat.
  • Eat slowly and noiselessly.
  • Never laugh at the accidents or misfortunes of others.
  • When dining, put your napkin in your lap.
  • Hold your knife in your right hand.
  • Take a bath at least three times a week.
